Welcome to Camargue,

Few areas of France are as distictive as the Camargue and few are offering such a large range of activities. Bird-watching, horse riding, cattle-sorting demonstration by local “Guardians”, bull racing shows, cycling, riverboat trips… and an immersion in gypsy culture with guitars & dancers around giant paellas – like if you were transported to Spain!

The Camargue Natural Park area, which includes a large UNESCO designated biosphere reserve, is vast wetlands where many species of migrating birds are stopping on their way to Africa each year. Thousands of pink flamingos made de reputation of this exquisite region!

Camargue is also famous for its white horses, a special breed, reputedly one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world. While some live in semi-wild conditions, most are now used either by the Camargue’s traditional cowboys, for herding and rounding up the area’s distinctive black bulls, or else for pony trekking.

Gastronomy can be an excellent reason for heading toward Camargue with many high ranked tables. And the roman & medieval Cities of Arles, Les-Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer or Aigues-Mortes make the journey highly memorable!
